Cullin Park
Nickname: Scooter Jr.
Number: 43
Age: 6
Home track: Dade City
FLmx: When did you start riding motocross?
CP: I was three years old when I started riding. I learned to ride on a battery motorcycle that Santa Claus brought me. It was to fast for me so my dad unhooked the battery and I learned to balance going down our driveway. I got my first dirt bike on my fourth birthday. It was a Honda 50 and raced for the first time one month later
FLmx: What is your first memory?
CP: I remember falling down all the time and that the jumps seemed so big. My Dad used to be so sweaty and tired after I raced from chasing me and picking me up. Now he just pretty much stands on the fence and watches.
FLmx: Who is some of your biggest competition?
CP: Out in Texas, my biggest competition was #199 Lance Kobusch from MO, #122 Carson Mumford from CA and #52 Tanner Craddock.
FLmx: You were champion this year at Lake Whitney and you made history doing it on a KTM. Has your life changed since then?
CP: Nothing has changed really. My family congratulates me and they all watch the video Road & Dirt did - it's awesome! I have watched it about 30 times. I wanted to try and win two titles at Lake Whitney, but I was battling with the leader in the 4-6 Stock class and my starter went out on my Cobra. So I learned you have to work hard but sometimes things happen that you can’t control... that was really hard. I was very sad.
FLmx: You are also competing on Saturday night at Dade City?
CP: Right now I’m in first place in the Peewee Stock class, second in the Pee Wee 4-6 and seventh place in the 65 5-8 class
FLmx: Also racing some in the Florida series?
CP: I am doing some of the races. I have missed a couple of races because other races I have been at like Lake Whitney.
FLmx: Do you like living in Clermont?
CP: Yes. My favorite thing is the private track I get to practice at. We met the Russell family and they let me come practice at their private track all of the time. I get to ride with my brother, my cousins and Cody Russell when I am there. Sometimes some of the fast guys show us that I get to watch like Ricky Renner, Alex Cox, Chris McBride and Cody Gitzen
FLmx: What do you think about making it to Loretta’s?
CP: Loretta's is fun. You have to work really hard to get there. I have qualified in two different regions in the area qualifiers - the SE and S Central. So I am going to go to Texas first then Virginia if I need to. I am hoping to go to Loretta's in the 4-6 Stock class.
FLmx: Who do you look up to as a role model?
CP: Chad Reed and Kevin Windham. They are good riders and they don’t give up
FLmx: What is your favorite thing about racing?
CP: My favorite things are the jumps, but I like going to all of the different tracks and camping and playing.
FLmx: Do you have any sponsors you’d like to thank?
CP: Darland Bakery, Central Florida Solar, Biohazard Cycles, Spaceport Cycles, Simpson Racing, KWWD Racing, AKC Racing, Cycle Sports Center, Triple J Cattle and ParkRacing.com
