What comes to mind when you hear the name Keylon?

Kenny Keylon was Rookie of the Year back in 1981, won the St. Petersburg national in 1982 and met his wife Renee at the Atlanta Supercross soon thereafter.

The Keylon name still holds strong within motorcycle racing - there's Kyle Keylon for instance. This year, Kyle signed with Butler Brother's MX for the AMA East Coast SX Lites Series, and the namesake continues.

Kory Keylon is the fourteen year old son of Kenny and Renee Keylon. Kory just wrapped up the 2008 Winter AM series, where he finished second overall in 125 Youth (12-15) behind Ian Trettel, and fifth overall in Yth 4stk (14-16) on his new Suzuki.

Kory Keylon

Nickname: Peanut

Birthday: November 22, 1993

Birth place: Dade City, Florida

Home track: Dade City Motocross

FLmx: What is your earliest motorcycle memory?

KK: Riding PW50 with my bro in the backyard

FLmx: Your dad was factory back in the day and your brother was one step ahead. When did you realize that your family was kind of a big deal?

KK: When my brother got his ride with Butler Brothers for the '08 season - that was a big deal for our family.

FLmx: Who teaches you more, your dad or your brother?

KK: My dad at the races and my brother when we train during the week. My brother pushes me more!

FLmx: What is your mom's role in all of this?

KK: She helps me train also and she is the one taking me to Lake Whitney since my dad is going to be with my bro at the supercrosses, so she definitely plays a big role in my racing.

FLmx: Are you home schooled?

KK: No, I'm not home schooled. I go to school. Hopefully I will get home schooled soon though.

FLmx: What have you had to overcome in your career so far?

KK: Getting hurt a lot - that really is a bummer. I broke my femur in '06 and that set me back for a year, but I feel like I have come back stronger.

FLmx: What do you focus the most on training?

KK: Riding and bicycling with my brother.

FLmx: How's the Trick Threads/Sky Powersports Suzuki treating you?

KK: Great, I was excited to get to ride for them in the '08 season.

FLmx: How do you like your Stellar graphics?

KK: They're sweet. They hold up really good. They look awesome, even after a while. Usually most graphics have already torn off.

FLmx: You took a second overall in 125 Youth (12-15) for the Winter AM series. How was the competition between you and Trettel/Barcia?

KK: They are both very tough!! Both really fast, but it makes me push harder

FLmx: Do you think you are a natural at the sport, or do you have to work more at it?

KK: They say I am a natural at it. I don't have to try near as hard as my brother always has.

FLmx: Your brother once told me the whoops at the track at your house scare him? Is it the same for you?

KK: Heck yeah, I am not hitting them!

FLmx: Are you and your brother more alike or different?

KK: We are different. I am more hard headed than my brother

FLmx: If you aren't racing or riding, what are you doing?

KK: Mudding and hunting

FLmx: What's your favorite thing about motocross?

KK:The thrill you get when you are riding. Also, I have a lot of friends in motocross

FLmx: Where is your favorite place on Earth?

KK: If I am not at the races, I like to be home.

FLmx: Who is your idol or hero?

KK: I think my idle would probably be Tim Ferry. He just a great rider - smooth. He is just sick.

FLmx: Sponsors, anyone you would like to thank?

KK: SKY Powersports, FOX, Oakley, FMF, Stellar Graphics, Trick Threads, Vortex, Randy Yoho at Dade City Motocross and my mom and dad.
